A sheet-conveying device for sheets (1) which are conveyed longitudinally through a copier and which are to be printed on both sides includes a turning device (E) which turns the sheet between copying processes in one or more steps about an axis parallel to the direction of transport (A), in order to ensure that the top of the type face (1a,1b) is in the same position on the front and back of the sheet. This turning device may consist simply of a rotatably mounted suction platform connected to a standard turning loop or to a device for reversing the movement of the transported sheet, or a pair of conveying rollers which can be driven in the same or opposite senses and are connected to a reversing loop, or two guideways which can be alternately pivoted into the transport path of the sheet, each guideway having a device for reversal of the direction of sheet transport. <IMAGE>
