PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a double inversion propeller for ship, by providing a plurality of intermediate gears between the inner circumferential gear of the front propeller boss and the outer circumferential gear of the rear propeller shaft penetrating through the inner circumferential gear. CONSTITUTION:The rear propeller shaft 5 fixed with a rear propeller 3 will pass through a stern tube bearing 13 into the ship and coupled with the main shaft 14. The front propeller 2 is formed with a gear 20 on the inner circumferential face at the boss section while a gear 21 is formed on the outer face of the rear propeller shaft 5 and a plurality of intermediate gears 15 are pivoted by the intermediate gear shaft 16 secured to the stern member 19 between both gears 20, 21. The front and rear direction thrust of the front propeller 2 are supported by the front and rear face bearings 17, 18. Consequently the rotation of the rear propeller 3 due to the main shaft 14 will cause reverse rotation of the front propeller 2 through the intermediate gear 15. Consequently the drive mechanism can be simplified. |
