The hooper assembly is for transporting finely divided or granular material from a storage bin to a processing machine. It is located intermediate the discharger end of a mixing chamber and the processing machine entrance throat. The hopper itself is an inverted conical section, and has its open top sealable by a hinged closure. The hopper surfaces are pulled taut when it has been tipped by lifting from one side to empty it. This ensures no material of a different colour or type is left clinging to the wall sides when the machine is changed to a different run, as in the case of e.g. granulated plastics.
