PURPOSE:To eliminate the harmful influence of ultraviolet rays by incorporating ultraviolet-ray absorbing polymer latex into a photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet-ray absorbing compound represented by general formula I (where (l) is 1 or 2, each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl, aryl or the like, R3 is cyano, -COOR5 or the like, R4 is cyano, -COOR6 or the like, and each of R5 and R6 is alkyl, aryl or the like) is impregnated into ultraviolet-ray absorbing (co)polymer latex having repeating units derived from a monomer represented by general formula II (where R is H, lower alkyl or Cl, X is -CONH-, -COO- or phenylene, A is alkylene or arylene, Y is -COO-, -OCO-, -CONH- or the like, each of (m) and (n) is 0 or 1, and Q is an ultraviolet-ray absorbing group represented by general formula III). The impregnated latex is incorporated into a photosensitive material.
