PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically prevent a generator voltage from becoming overvoltage, without performing load-side modification.SOLUTION: A power generation device 100 comprises: a generator 2 which generates AC power; a reactor 5 that is connected to the generator 2 in parallel with a load 50 to which power is supplied from the generator 2; a circuit breaker 6 which electrically opens/closes a circuit between the generator 2 and the reactor 5; and a controller 10 which opens/closes the circuit breaker 6. Before the generator 2 and the load 50 are disconnected by overvoltage, based on a phase difference between a voltage and a current which are outputted from the generator 2, the controller 10 detects whether a power factor of the generator 2 is a leading power factor and if the power factor of the generator 2 is a leading power factor, the circuit breaker 6 is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
