PURPOSE:To enable the development of the resulting titled material at a low temp. and to enhance the shelf stability by forming a heat sensitive recording layer contg. a diazo compound, a coupler and a heat-meltable auxiliary coupler on a support such as paper, synthetic paper, a resin film or metal laminated paper. CONSTITUTION:A coupler, a copolymer resin and other additives are dissolved or dispersed in a suitable solvent, applied to a support, and dried to form the 1st layer. A diazo compound and other additives are dissolved or dispersed in a suitable solvent, applied to the 1st layer, and dried to form the 2nd layer. Thus, a heat sensitive recording layer consisting of the 1st and the 2nd layers is formed. The copolymer resin is prepared by incorporating 1-30% units each having a cationic functional group into a hydrophobic resin as a basic skeleton. A heat-meltable auxiliary coupler insoluble in water and having 50-150 deg.Cm.p. is preferably added to both of the 1st and the 2nd layers. The proper ratio between the diazo compound and the coupler is 1:(0.5-20). |
