<p>During compression of the fiery coke cake, the flue gases emitted are collected on the discharging side of the battery (1) by a suction hood (10) which covers completely or partially the coke quenching car (5). The suction hood (10) may be displaced along the suction channel (11) which has the shape of a rolling rail (22) parallel to the battery (1) of coke ovens. It bears on nothing else. The suction channel (11) comprises on both sides of its lower level U-shaped indentations (33, 34) having slot-shaped hollows (25) which are cleared upon displacing the suction hood (10) by means of lifting pulleys (39, 40) so that the smokes are directed from the suction hood (10) into the suction channel (11) through the thus formed directing conduit.</p> |
