PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency by providing a volute chamber at the upstream side of a water-wheel chamber and an inflated flow-out chamber at the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:A lead-in port 14A and a flow-out port 14B are provided at the opposite ends of a casing 11 for a cross-flow water-wheel. At the lead-in port 14A side, a volute chamber 14C is formed with the cross-section thereof decreasing gradually toward an impeller 13. At the flow-out port 14B, a flow-out chamber 14D is formed while inflating at the immediately downstream side of the impeller 13. The impeller 13 is made of a light metal or plastic. Said water-wheel casing 11 is suspended by a pair of parallel links 5 coupled through a pin 4 to a float 1 moored by means of a rope 3 through a pin 4'. Consequently, the water flows smoothly in the flow-out chamber thus improving the efficiency.
