PURPOSE:To cancel a secondary beat component over a wide range in a vertical non-correlation interval by supplying the secondary beat component and a non- correlation luminance signal outputted from a subtraction circuit to a limiter amplifier through a differentiation circuit. CONSTITUTION:In the subtraction circuit 3, a reproducing luminance signal before one horizontal period is subtracted from a present reproducing luminance signal, thereby, the secondary beat component and the non-correlation luminance signal included in the reproducing luminance signal are detected and outputted. The output of the subtraction circuit 3 is supplied to the differentiation circuit 4, the direct current component of the non-correlation luminance signal is substantially removed, the non-correlation luminance signal and the secondary beat component having only an edge part and a form of a differential pulse are supplied to the limiter amplifier 5 and the peak level of the non-correlation signal of the differential pulse form is regulated and the secondary beat component presenting except the edge part is amplified in a linear range. Thereby, the secondary beat component can be cancelled completely even in the vertical non-correlation interval.
