PURPOSE:To make it possible to set properly the number of digits for test printing in accordance with the width of a printing paper by a method wherein the output of a printing digit setting section having a digit number setting means and a digit setting control circuit is inputted to a test control circuit. CONSTITUTION:A printing digit setting section 12 is provided with the digit number setting means 13 for setting the number of digits for test printing and the digit number setting control circuit 14 capable of generating a digit number signal S5 designating the number of digits for test printing types to be written in a printing memory 9, by receiving a setting signal S4 from the digit number setting means 13. With the above arrangement, when the digit number signal S5 from the printing digit setting section 12 is inputted to the control circuit 11, characters to be test-printed are written in the printing memory 9 by a designated number of digits. Then, when the characters are test-printed by the designated number of digits, the control circuit carries the printing paper and controls a printing control circuit 8 so that the like test printing is performed in the next line. |
