PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption and to improve the stability of combustion by igniting only specific cylinders with plasma so that the plasma ignition and spark ignition are succesively performed in turn. CONSTITUTION:One end of the secondary coil 12b of the ignition coil 12 of a high voltage generator circuit 11 is connected to the ignition plugs 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d of individual cylinders 15a-15d through a diode D1 and a distributor 14, and one terminal of the condenser (c) of a low voltage generator circuit 21 is connected to the ignition plugs 4a, 4d of the first and fourth cylinders 15a, 15d through diodes D6, D7. Accordingly, the plasma ignition is performed on the first and fourth cylinders 15a, 15d and the spark ignition is performed on the second and third cylinders 15b, 15c, thus the plasma ignition and spark ignition are successively performed in turn, thereby the power consumption is remarkably reduced as compared with the case of the plasma ignition on all cylinders and the stability of cambustion is improved as a whole. |
