PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of strands by providing projecting parts for preventing excessive bending on the outside circumferential surface of an optical fiber cable periodically. CONSTITUTION:Cabler 2 for tensile reinforcement is provided around a core 1 of a central optical fiber, and a fiber cord 3 made of a soft and thick-walled synthetic resin is coated on the outer side thereof. Further, small circular parts 4 of a small diameter and large circular parts 5 of a large diameter are formed alternately on the outer side to constitute an optical fiber cable A. If the cable A is curved strongly, the inside end parts 6 of the parts 5 are in contact with each other and prevent the cable from bending any more, whereby the breakage of the strands is prevented. |
