PURPOSE:To simply manufacture a vertical magnetic recording medium with high sensitivity and excellent in reproducing efficiency without using a base high polymer film, by supporting a vertical magnetic recording layer for direct forming on a magnetic substance film having high permeability. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic substance layer 1 having easy magnetization axis orthogonally to the film surface with a ferromagnetic property is formed on a magnetic substance foil 2 of high permeability formed by cold rolling, hot rolling or liquid quenching, by means of vacuum evaporation. Thus, a closed magnetic path is formed between layers 1 and 2, a vertical diamagnetic field is decreased, the recording sensitivity at high density recording can remarkably be increased, the leakage magnetic flux at reproduction can be reduced and the reproducing efficiency can be increased. |
