PURPOSE:To smooth the switching to a high load area in the combustion in multiple cylinders with primary and secondary suction passages by providing the first throttle valve in a primary paasage, the second throttle valve on the upper stream side of a secondary passage, and the third throttle valve in a branch passage on the downstream. CONSTITUTION:For idling, the first throttle valve 16 is a little opened, and the second and the third throttle valve 17 and 18 are closed for accelerating the flow speed in the first suction passage 8. At the time of low load, the first throttle valve 16 is considerably opened, but the second and the third throttle valve 17 and 18 are kept closed. The sucked air is introduced into a combustion chamber 4 via the passage 8, and causes a strong suction swirl. In the area of medium load, the throttle valve 16 is fully opened, and throttle valves 17 and 18 are a little opened. The air is conducted mostly through the primary passage 8 and partly through the secondary passage 9, and causes a strong suction swirl. In the area of high load, the air is conducted through three throttle vaves 16, 17, and 18 and sucked into the combustion chamber respectively via a suction valve 10. |
