PURPOSE:The titled remedial promotor, containing a polyprenyl derivative as an active constituent, having remarkable multiplication action on granulation tissues, and effective for the treatment of radiation ulcer, pressure sore, lesion, ambustion, etc. CONSTITUTION:A remedial promotor for wounds containing a polyprenyl derivative expressed by the formula (R<1> is OH, lower alkoxyl, aliphatic acyloxy, etc. in the side chain at the 7-position, and H in the other side chains; R<2> is H, lower alkyl, aliphatic acyl, etc.; n is an integer 1-3), e.g. 7-hydroxymethyl-3, 11,15-tremethyl-2,6,10,14-hexadecatetraen-1-o1, as an active constituent. The compound expressed by the formula significantly increases the wet and dry weight of granulation tissues measured by the cotton pellet method, shows the incarnant action and significantly antagonizes the inhibition against the multiplication of the granulation tissues by the cortisone of glucide corticoid delaying the treatment of the wounds.
