PURPOSE:To reduce a noise component produced by an external edge, in a magnetic material thin film pattern at the end of magnetic poles by making the surface in contacting with a nonmagnetic layer flat and regulating the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of film thickness to more or the same as the thickness of the nonmagnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A recess 11 is provided by etching for all rear parts of a lower magnetic layer and a part corresponding to a part of the tip on the surface of a nonmagnetic base 1, the 1st permalloy film is formed, the external surface is polished into a smooth surface and permalloy film is imbedded in the recess 11. Then, the 2nd permalloy film is produced on the upper surface, and the 3rd permalloy film of the upper surface is produced to the nonmagnetic gap layer. Thus, the surface of the magnetic material pattern in contact with the nonmagnetic gap layer is made flat and the magnetic material pattern surface at opposite side to the contact surface with the nonmagnetic gap layer is made uneven. Then, the recording and reproduction efficiency is extremely reduced due to the shift in the azimuth angles and the noise component to signal components can be lowered. Thus, the noise component produced by external edges can be reduced. |
