In order to cushion the back seat passenger in the event of a collision or rapid braking and therefore to protect him/her against injury, the impact cushion, which is divided into two air chambers, is provided. The impact cushion is mounted on the front seat by means of an adjustable suspension device and can be vertically displaced by means of a coupling part and therefore adapted to the passenger's body size.
