PURPOSE:To provide the titled material excellent in heat response to a thermal head for high speed recording and long-term preservability, by providing an intermediate layer containing a heat-meltable substance and a heat-meltable or a heat-softenable film forming substance between a specific diazo compound layer and a specific coupler layer. CONSTITUTION:A layer (A) of a diazo compound shown by formulaIor II (wherein R1, R2, R3, R5 and R7 are each H, lower alkyl or the like; R4 is H, lower alkyl or the like; X is S or O; Y1 and Y2 are each an acid residue as such or forming a double salt with a metal salt e.g., a compound of formula III or IV, and a coupler layer (B) comprising phloroglucinol are laminated as separate layers on a support and an intermediate layer (C) containing a heat-meltable substance (e.g. 2-tribromoethanol) and a heat-meltable or a heat-softenable film forming substance (e.g. PVC or PS) is provided between the layers A and B to obtain the titled material. Owing to the presence of the intermediate layer, a high-speed color forming property is shown, and owing to the presence of the film forming substance, a clear color image free from pinholes can be formed. |
