<p>The total sludge is transported upwards with simultaneous drying through the turbulent dispersion/heat transfer medium packed bed, conducted away together with the fluidising gas from above the fluidised bed, and separated from the fluidising gas in a downstream solid separator. The sludge is subsequently burnt in the solids burner. The hot combustion gases, after substantial separation off of the combustion residues has been carried out, are fed to the fluidised bed as the heat-supplying fluidising gas for the sludge drying. An apparatus for carrying out this process has an oblong fluidised bed furnace (1), with intake flow from the bottom, having a plurality of sludge feed positions (4) distributed on its longitudinal extension, a solids separator (6) downstream of its gas space for separating the total dried sludge from the fluidising gas and an intake base of the fluidised bed furnace (1) impinged by the exhaust gases of the solids burner. <IMAGE></p> |
