Provision for cementing to the timber cladding is made on a plate anchor (11) designed for screwing at an adjustable interval from masonry (1) for fixing wooden cladding units, esp. door cases (22). Two threaded screws with heads hinged in position in the anchor, connect it to a base plate (3), with corresponding threaded holes at an adjustable interval and selected degree of slope. The base plate has holes through it, for direct fastening on the masonry (1). The screws can have domed heads, each held in the plate anchor between two perforated discs braced against each other. The plate anchor is easily and securely fastened to the masonry, permitting adjustment of slope as well as interval.
