PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of machining and shorten tool exchange time by synchronizing a carrier with a vertical movement of a main shaft and by making a tool exchange possible without any movement of the main shaft under machining. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower guide rails 13, 13 are parallelly placed at the side of a column 2 of a tool magazine 1 and an attaching base 14 of a main shaft side straight rail 7 is moved vertically along the guide rails 13, 13. In order to synchronize with the position of the main shaft, a tune bracket 17 is mounted on the side of a main shaft head 12 and stopper 18 at the base side. The carrier 4 is moved left so as to catch a tool 11 by a chuck jaw 8 and is moved right to send the tool 11 from a side straight rail 5, through a curved rail 6, to a straight rail 7. The carrier 4 is downed along the rails 13 and stopped when the stop 18 comes in contact with a bracket 17 to insert the tool 11 to be exchanged into the main shaft 3. |
