Shunt-wound DC motor energy recuperation system - allowing partial battery recharging, e.g. for vehicle electric drive

The energy recuperation system allows the magnetic flux stored in the shunt winding of the motor to be converted back into electrical energy using resistance switching. The obtained electrical energy is pref. fed back to the battery which supplies the DC motor. Pref. the lamella disc (21) cooperates with a rotating switch (23) so that each lamella is coupled to a resistance, to cause flux variations in the shunt winding with resulting self-induction. A high EMF is obtained when the shunt winding has a large number of winding turns. The energy recuperation system can be used for an electrically driven vehicle.
