Extra brake light fitting for motor vehicle - is integrally mounted in back seat headrest recess, open to rear

The additional brake light is intended to strengthen the perception of the following vehicle driver's of the braking condition of the preceding vehicle. For this purpose, it is mounted integrally in the rear seat headrest(s) (12,13). In there it occupies a rear-open shelf (17,18). This brake light fitting (15,16) is switched on and off simultaneously with normal brake lights. An alternative design may combine this additional brake light as an extra trafficator light (25,26) brought in and out of operation with normal trafficator lights of the vehicle. The feed cable (19,26;27,28) for each light is integrated into the respective headrest, but then is led freely outside it. The cables may have connecting plugs, fitting in appropriate sockets, e.g. in the vehicle boot.
