PURPOSE:To close the clearance between a horizontal nozzle and a mold and make the leakage prevention of molten steel possible by pouring molten steel by way of a flexible skirt into a mold formed of tha path surfaces of vertical and lateral endless tracks. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 1 supplied into a tundish 2 passes through a horizontal nozzle 4, and is poured into a mold formed of the path surfaces of vertical and lateral endless tracks by way of a heat-resistant flexible skirt S mounted on the outside circumferential surface in the end part of the nozzle 4. At this time, the skirt S is pressed to the corresponding path surface sides of the vertical and lateral endless tracks by the static pressure of the molten steel 1 poured into the mold, thereby closing the clearance between said nozzle 4 and the mold and preventing the leakage of the molten steel. |
