Foam mattress with efficient ventilation system - has large internal cavities linked to outside ensuring air change with minimum pressure

The mattress which is normally made of one or more parts of plastics and/or latex has inside voluminous cavities (2) which connect (3,4) with the outside. The cavities are formed during foaming of the material and can have any shape and may not be off-set relative to each other. The cavities inside the mattress are linked e.g. by ventilation ducts to all the outer faces of the mattress so that ventilation of the mattress takes place in the transverse direction and vertical directions. Thus a considerable change of air takes place within the mattress plane even with only slight pressure being applied.
