The water tower drive system uses water flow diverted from e.g. a river, towards a reservoir, via a regulating inlet valve. A turbine (T) is positioned at the bottom of a tower made up of a pair of coaxial conduits, the water passing up the outer tube (B) and falling through the centre one (C). The head of water required to obtain this effect is obtained by taking a conduit (A) from the reservoir situated at a height sufficiently great to achieve this. Further towers may be positioned down stream (E) to repeat the effect at suitable intervals.
|
