PURPOSE:To prevent a recording paper from being contaminated by sprayed ink drops by a method wherein in an ink jet recording system, a girder is raised directly after the start of an ink jet starting and all ink drops are collected by means of a wide opening of a girder. CONSTITUTION:A girder 8 has a wide opening 8 and multi narrow openings 8b at the upper part thereof and is held in free sliding by a holding base 10 by engaging a guide plate 9 in a guide groove 11. When a record is started, as soon as ink drops 2 are jetted from a nozzle head, a cam 13 installed under the holding base 10 rotates and it protrudes from a notch 12 of the holding base 10 in resisting to the force of a tension spring 14 and makes the girder 8 slide upward. At this time, ink drops 2 ketted from the are collected in all openings 8a. When the jet direction of ink drops 2 is stabilized, the cam 13 rotates to make the girder 8 slide downward, thus, only ink drops 2 with no participation in a recording being collected into the narrow openings 8b. |
