The constructional kit is for a lamp having a top portion of oval cross-section with reflector, mounting, bulb and translucent cover. The end face of this portion furthest from the reflector is at 45 deg. to its lengthwise axis and forms a swivel joint for a similarly-inclined face on a bottom portion. A stand (2), clamp, wall bracket, foot or adaptor, together with extension piece (3) and head (4) form modular components fitting together, and are of elliptical tubular cross-section with top and bottom end faces (8-13) at 45 degrees to the axis and incorporating mechanical and electrical plug connections, so that they can be turned in relation to each other.
