The pneumatic message conveying system has a hinged pipe which can pivot about the top edge through an angle. The tube in the slanting position is parallel to a second conveyor tube. The end of the tube opens on to a second tube heaving the end mounted onto a horizontal trolley able to travel a short distance to maintain the opening of the pipe below the pipe. A gate valve may also be located on the trolley to close off one end of the pipe.
