PURPOSE:To improve the dynamic range and to increase the SN ratio, by separating the source signal to be recorded into a large amplitude and a small amplitude signal component, recording them under the condition that the SN ratio can independently guaranteed, and synthesizing them at playback through the correction of the respective signal components. CONSTITUTION:A large amplitude signal of the source signal is detected and separated from an amplifier 1, AD converter 31, DA converter 32, and filter 33, and is input to a differential amplifier 35, and the signal added with a bias is recorded on a magnetic tape 11 with a magnetic head 37 via an amplifier and a bias signal circuit 2 as it is. On the other hand, the output from the amplifier 1 enters the differential amplifier 35 via a delay circuit 34, and the difference from the large amplitude signal, that is, a small amplitude oscillation is amplified and recorded. At playback, the small amplitude and the large amplitude signal recording are fed to heads 38, 39 and a bias signal rejection circuit 7, resulting that the small amplitude signal is attenuated into a given value and the large amplitude signal is synthesized via a noise filter 40 for playback. Accordingly, the dynamic range can be improved and the SN ratio can be increased. |
