The furniture castor clamp mounting has a tensioning shaft (7) through the centre of the mounting, and threaded into a clamping wedge (13) to the upper end. A rubber sleeve (12) is fitted over the shaft and covered by an outer metal sleeve (11) with vertical slots. The fitting is pushed into the hollow leg (2) and the shaft turned to expand the rubber sleeve and push the slotted sleeve into the walls of the hollow leg. The metal to metal clamping action provides a secure fitting with the clamping tension spread over the length of the fitting. The bottom edge of the metal sleeve is pulled down over a wedge seating (15) to assist the splaying action.
