PURPOSE:To perform a prompt and correct measurement for the diamter of a virtual circle drawn by the edge of a rotary tool, by using a tool presetter to a numerically controlled machine tool or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a boring tool T is set to an NC machine tool and the diameter of a virtual circle drawn by its edge Te is measured, a shank Ts is mounted to a main spindle 14 of a presetter 10, and measurement elements 26, 27 in a measuring unit device 20 are manually operated to set a space between faces 28, 29 less than the diameter of the circle drawn by the edge Te. When the shank Ts of the tool T is manually rotated one turn, the space between the faces 28, 29 coincides with the diameter of the virtual circle drawn by the edge Te, and the diameter of the tool can be read as it is by a display device 35. |
