<p>A truck upright having a fixed upright section (20), three or more telescopic upright sections (24, 28, 32), and a load carriage (36) mounted e.g. on section (32). An asymmetric lift piston-and-cylinder assembly (80) is located adjacent one side of the upright and is operatively connected at its upper end to a first telescopic upright section (24) for operating first lifting chain structure (94) which is arranged as shown to lift section (28). A third telescopic upright section (32) on which is mounted the load carriage (36) is itself mounted for elevation relative to the second telescopic section (28). Second lifting chain structure (110, 112), is secured at one end to the third telescopic section (32) and at the other end to the first telescopic section (24). A second piston-and-cylinder assembly (60) is mounted on inner section (32) for elevating thereon the load or fork carriage (36), a third lifting chain structure (72) having one end connected to the load carriage (36) and the other end connected to the third telescopic section (32). <IMAGE></p> |
