Air conditioning for interior of vehicle - has chiller and heater in same circuit with selective control

The vehicle air conditioning circuit has a chiller (7) and a heat exchanger (17) linked into a common circuit to cover a room (1) over a wide range of external conditions. The outputs of the two units are applied to different points in the room while the inputs to the units are combined. The cool air is ducted into the room near the top (16) while the warm air is ducted in under the seats (19), for maximum comfort, and without requiring large airflows. The outlet from the room is taken from underseat ducts. The system provides max. comfort in ambulance vehicles and other rescue vehicles, with a minimum of complexity.
