PURPOSE:To render recorded image density constant and to improve copy image quality, by carrying out recording action with a group of electrodes not selected among the groups of electrodes on a recording head released electrically. CONSTITUTION:In recording in 4 lines/mm, switches SWA, SWB are closed, and switches SW1-SW16 are connected with the side A of column direction lead wires. In recording in 8 lines/mm switches SWC, SWD are closed, and switch SW1-SW16 are connected with the side B of column direction lead wires. By driving the predetermined electrodes through a column direction drive circuit and a row direction drive circuit, the electrode groups arranged adjacent to these electrode groups are released electrically when an electrode group corresponding to one scanning density is driven, so the electrodes performing recording action are driven under the same conditions and a uniform electrostatic latent image is formed. |
