PURPOSE:To effectively suppress oil ejection without hindering gas release, by providing an oil ejection suppressor between the tank of an oil-immersed electric appliance and a pressure release cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A zigzag release passage 13 is defined by two concentric partition plates 11, 12 in the hollow box of an oil ejection suppressor 8 so that the release passage is bent upward and downward alternately. An oil reservoir 15 and an oil return hole 16 for connecting the reservoir to a tank 1 are provided on the halfway part of the zigzag release passage 13. The oil ejection suppressor 8 is mounted on the top lid of the tank so that the inlet port of the gas release passage 13 communicates with the opening 7 of the tank. The outlet port of the release passage 13 is connected to the gas inlet part of a pressure release cylinder 2 through flanges 17. When an accident occurs, a large amount of produced gas blows up together with insulating oil 6 to an upper space 18, flows into the release passage 13 of the suppressor 8 through the opening 7 and collides against a ceiling 9 so that the energy of the gas and the oil is reduced and a portion of the blown- up oil returns into the tank 1. The other portion of the oil loses its energy while proceeding in the releasepassage 13 so the the portion stays in the oil reservoir 15. The gas of small specific gravity goes through the release passage without undergoing resistance so that the gas reaches the outlet port of the release passage. |
