HV generating circuit which produces ignition sparks - is for IC engine and uses two-stage conversion of battery voltage, to produce higher voltage

The hv generating circuit has no energy store in its ignition circuit. The coverter only draws energy from the dc voltage source (battery) for a given time during ignition. The firest converter is controlled by a disconnector and generates on its secondary side directly the ac hv needed for generating the ignition sparks. A diode voltage multiplier (2) is connected to the output of the first coverter and raises the voltage to the required level. A second converter may be used instead to produce the higher voltage.
