Novel compounds of the formula I in which the substituents are defined in Claim 1, are obtained by reacting an alcohol of the formula II with an equimolar amount or a molar excess of an amine or cyclic imine of the formula III in an inert organic solvent at the reflux temperature of the reaction mixture with azeotropic removal of the water of reaction. The compounds which can be prepared according to the invention can be used as active ingredients in herbicides.
