METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CUTTING A BUNDLE OF TUBES

The bundle of tubes containing a nuclear fuel is introduced into a guide tube and clamped by two side clamps within the tubes. The bundle of tubes is then submitted to a cutting operation at right angles to the beam, and after the blande returns to inoperative position, a safety platy is positioned near the cut section. The side clamps are withdrwn by a limafter clamount and then the bundle of tubes is pushed forwardly after clamping again by the two side clamps prior to the next cutting operation.
