PURPOSE:To perform engraving by a simple method by radiating light of high intensity to the printing original plate comprising providing a recording layer dispersed evenly with high polymer compound fine particles on a metal layer substrate, letting the specified portions of the high polymer compound make fusion-bonding to the metal layer and removing the remaining portions. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles of high polymer compound such as phenolic resin, ethylene-base ionomer resin is dispersed in water, and if necessary, a binder, pigments and dyes are added and mixed to form the coating. This is then coated on a substrate having a metal layer (Al plate, plastic film evaporated with metals, etc.) and is dried at relatively low temperature, whereby the recording layer composed of discontinuous particle groups is formed. Next, a desired mask (e.g., the patterns formed by blanking an Al plate) is contacted on the recording layer on the printing original plate and light of high intensity is radiated from the pattern side to let the high polymer fine particles of the radiated portions make thermal-fusion-bonding to the metal layer. Thence, the recording layer is rinsed to remove the high polymer fine particles of the unradiated portions and expose the metal surface, whereby the printing plate is obtained. |
