PURPOSE:To load and eject a discoid recording medium stably and definitely by putting a clamping mechanism, which clamps the recording medium, into release operation before a cartridge body reach a clamp position. CONSTITUTION:Disk 2 is contained in cartridge body 3 with cover 4. Cover 4 has asymmetric convex parts 9b and 9c for a discrimination between the top and reverse of disk 2. When the cartridge body is loaded on reproducing device 20, clamping parts 75a and 78a provided to the deep part of reproducing device 20 clamp the disk edge, the edge of cartridge body 3 pushes clamping mechanism operation control lever 92, and cover 4 is held by clamp levers 62 and 63. Those mechanisms put the clamping mechanism into release operation before cartridge body 3 reaches a clamp postion, so that disk 2 can be loaded and ejected stably and definitely. |
