<p>9beta,10alpha-DELTA16-Pregnenes (I) where R3 = 3-keto-DELTA4- 3-keto-DELTA4,6- 3-keto-DELTA1,4- 3-keto-DELTA1,4,6-3-alkoxy-DELTA3,5- or 3-acyloxy-DELTA3,5- Steroid hormones - antigonadotrophic, antiestrogenic, weakly progestational. Compd. III (10 g.) is dissolved in EtOH (200 ml.) and treated with 2N-NaOH (50 ml.). After 2 hrs. at r.t. the soln. is neutralised with 0.5N-H2SO4, diluted with water (500 ml.) and extracted into CH2Cl2. The washed and dried extracts are evap. and the residue chromatographed on silica gel IV (5.1 g.), m.p. 131-132 deg. (from acetone-hexane), (alpha)D-417 (diox).</p> |
