As used e.g. between residential buildings, the partitioning element for deadening airborne noise incorporates a bend-resistant shell and a flexible shell; the former has inward-open hollow spaces, accessible to air vibrations and sealed outwards, while the latter is attached to it at individual points. Here the flexible shell (3) is directly attached to the rigid one (2), and it has a loss factor of between 0.1 and 1. The rigid shell can consist of masonry (5) with holow spaces in it, and with external rendering layer (6) for outward sealing. Hollow blocks (7) can be used in it, with axes of hollow spaces (8) running in the direction of its surface norm.
