<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of the shuttles of a device for conveying a workpiece and raise the flexibility of use of the device, by providing mechanisms separately from the shuttles to switch fingers attached to the shuttles. CONSTITUTION:Finger units 2-5, 2'-5' are provided at an appropriate spacing inside a pair of shuttle bars 1, 1', which are moved back and forth within a prescribed distance. The finger units have fingers 2a-5a, 2b-5b, 2a'-5a', 2b'-5b', which are supported by brackets 6, 6' so that the fingers can be swung horizontally and hold different workpieces W. The finger units 2-5 are coupled to one another by a connecting rod 9 so that the finger units can be swung together. Switch mechanism 10, 10' are provided separately from the shuttle bars so that the mechanisms can be engaged or disengaged with some finger units when the shuttle bars 1, 1' are stopped in a prescribed position. If the mechanisms are engaged with the finger units, these units can be swung by the mechanisms.</p> |
