<p>Water-dilutable thermosetting lacquer compsns. contg. water-soluble or -dispersible lacquer binders, (I), and opt standard additives, also contain 0.5-70 (esp. 5-30) wt% w.r.t. (I) of water-insoluble ethylenically unsatd phenol (II) esp candanol. The compsns are used esp for electro-dip lacquering. The lacquers can also be worked by spraying, electrostatic spraying, rolling, spreading, brushing or immersion. The addn of (II) improves storage-stability of compsn. and retards initial surface-hardening of the coatings, resulting in improved flow, hardening through, distribution and surface-smoothness. Stoving temp. is reduced.</p> |
