Spin dryer lid lock - has a locking bolt and lever to give additional security when lid is closed

In the lid locking mechanism for a clothes spin dryer, the rear end of the locking bolt is attached to a connecting piece which pivots with the upper section of the hinge on a horizontal axis. There is a lever fitted with a hook which engages in a fixed section of the lid when the lid is closed. The design gives an additional locking action when the spin dryer lid is closed. There is a spring with the connecting piece linking one end of teh connector with a butt of the upper hinge section. The connector is angled with a recess to take one end of the spring, and pivots within two legs of the fork-shaped lever. The connector also acts as a limit switch for the drive motor.
