Carpet web continuous dryer - has stationery perforated drying drum followed by auxiliary drying chamber for complete drying in one pass

The continuous dryer for an endless web of carpet material, as in the main patent, has a continuous stationary drum or cylinder (1) with openings through its periphery, through which drying air is blown. After passing round guide rollers to ensure a full lap around the drum, the web (2) passes downwards then around further rollers (5) for horizontal travel through an auxiliary dryer (4). This dryer (4) has a horizontal chamber through which air is blown, to pass through the web vertically. In alternative designs, the web can be fed onto the cylinder either vertically or horizontally, after passing around suitable guide rollers. The design is intended to dry the web with one pass only.
