DC test voltage applicator for very HV cable - having terminal box inserted into gas-filled case and connected to overhead bushing

The test voltage applicator is for a very h.v. cable having both ends connected to a gas-filled switching plant. The device consists of a cable bring the test d.c. voltage from a generator, with the feeding terminal box at its end. The test cable (1) generator end also has a terminal box (2) inserted into one (4) of two connecting pieces of a metal case (3) filled with an insulating gas. It is connected in this case with the terminal box (6) of an overhead bushing (7) inserted into the other connecting piece (5), for the test cable connection to the generator.
