Anti-jamming system for conical scan radar - employs pilot tone modulation for regeneration of scan signal

A jammer is used to confuse a conical-scan-radar operated firing guidance system. It has a send-receive switch a transmitter and a receiver. It amplifies the modulation of the scan frequency of the radar aerial system and, by means of a scan inverter produces a phase shift of approx. Pi. The radar controlled firing guidance system includes a filter which only accepts such spectral components as will serve for the generation of a pilot tone with which the radar transmitter is modulated. The scan signal is then regenerated by demodulation of the pilot tone in an amplitude demodulator (AD), and thus the jamming is overcome.
