A surface type secondary-electron multiplier is disclosed which consists of a support and a secondaryelectron emissive and electron-conductive high-polymer layer formed thereupon. For forming the secondary-electron emission layer, paint consisting of an electron-conductive high-polymer dissolved or suspended insolvents is used. Alternatively, the support may consists of a nitrogen- or sulphur-containing electron-donor polymeric composition which may be molded or formed, and a charge-transfer complex conductive layer may be formed upon the support.
